Samsung has revised its attitude towards what the A-series should be. The South Korean giant woke up, as it were, and saw that there were other manufacturers around, especially from China, who are producing interesting solutions, approaching the optimal price / performance ratio. Therefore, in 2019, the company decided to make the Galaxy A line competitive and the main “weapon” in the fight against Chinese manufacturers. Today the debut of the flagship of the updated series – Galaxy A80.
The older model is not only more powerful than its counterparts, but also more interesting in terms of exterior. This device is clearly created for the youth audience, so it looks fresh and creative. Emphasis is placed on the display, which extends over almost the entire surface of the front panel, as well as on the sliding module with a rotating and universal camera, which, depending on the need, takes on the functions of a front-end or main module. The whole process of the “ascent” of the sliding mechanism occurs quickly, smoothly and is automated. As the main one, Samsung installed a 48 megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 aperture, and complements it with a wide-angle 8 megapixel camera (viewing angle of 123 degrees) and a ToF sensor.
The Galaxy A80 has a Super AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a fingerprint scanner integrated into it. The smartphone was built on the latest 8-nm platform Snapdragon 730, whose release took place just yesterday. The company did not stint and offered 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent memory, but there is no support for microSD cards. The battery capacity was 3700 mAh and there is support for fast 25-watt charging. The novelty works under the Android 9.0 Pie OS with the One UI 1.1 shell. It is available in black, white and golden colors. The start of sales is scheduled for May 27 in many countries of the world and it will be possible to purchase a smartphone at a price of 699 euros or $ 730.
